Though compact, the park is spectacular and teeming with wildlife, offering the best chance to see rare rhinos (both black and white), elusive leopards, and the unusual Rothschild's giraffe, along with vast herds of buffalo, gazelles, elands, and zebras. The park is also home to nearly 400 bird species, including thousands of flamingos adorning the lake's edge with their shimmering pink plumage. After a picnic lunch, journey to Lake Naivasha (50 km / 1.5 hours). En route, stop at Lake Elementaita for afternoon tea at a farmer’s home, visit their small farm, and explore the lakeside environment, where you’ll find thousands of pelicans nesting, hot springs, and fascinating eroded ash cones. Arrive at Lake Naivasha for overnight accommodation in chalets right by the lake. (B, L, D)
